How Your City Joins the Mission

Four simple steps from commitment to resilient energy reality.

1

Sign the Letter of Intent

Confirm your city's commitment to strengthening energy resilience and supporting humanitarian infrastructure by signing a non-binding Letter of Intent.

2

We secure EU funding

Our team coordinates access to relevant EU funding programs and financial instruments to fully or partially fund the deployment of Flexhome energy storage systems.

3

Joint project planning

Together with your local energy provider, we design and plan the implementation of the energy storage network — tailored to your city's infrastructure and needs.

4

We turn the lights on

Deployment begins. Homes are equipped, the grid is stabilized, and resilient, decentralized energy becomes reality.

Decentralized Energy Security in Times of Crisis

FlexHome.Energy combines humanitarian emergency relief with strategic reconstruction through innovative swarm battery storage systems installed directly in Ukrainian apartments.

  • The Problem

Centralized energy infrastructure in Ukraine is highly vulnerable to targeted attacks. Regional-scale outages pose an immediate threat to the civilian population.

  • The Solution

Compact battery storage units are installed in apartments and form a digitally connected swarm that delivers both emergency power and grid stabilization.

  • The Vision

A comprehensive, digital, and secure energy system that is resilient in times of crisis and high-performing in times of peace.

Four Steps to Resilient Energy Supply

From installation to intelligent grid stabilization – this is how the swarm battery system works.

1

Installation

Compact battery units are installed in apartments within minutes – no specialist required, simple plug & play.

2

Networking

All units are digitally connected via LTE or Starlink and linked into an intelligent swarm that is centrally coordinated.

3

Dual-Mode Operation

During power outages, units automatically switch to island mode. When the grid is stable, they support frequency regulation.

4

Scaling

The more units installed, the stronger the swarm becomes – a virtual power plant for the entire region.

Humanitarian Impact & Strategic Value

The swarm technology operates on multiple levels simultaneously – from immediate crisis relief to long-term system transformation.

Supply Security

Families retain access to lighting, communication, and essential devices even during grid outages. Basic medical care remains secured.

Grid Stabilization

Coordinated discharge stabilizes frequencies, absorbs peak loads, and supports brown-start recovery after large-scale outages.

Crisis Resilience

The decentralized structure makes the system robust against targeted attacks – individual failures cannot compromise the overall system.

European Integration

An AI-powered energy system that can be connected across Europe and enables access to EU flexibility markets.

Reconstruction

The storage systems are not just crisis technology but building blocks for a modern energy system with renewable integration.

Dual-Use Potential

Communication backbone, distributed sensing, and fog-edge computing complement the energy function for security applications.

Proven Technology, Strong Network

The project is built on field-tested technology and backed by a strong network of academia, industry, and government.

Field-Proven in Germany

The systems are operationally deployed across a network of more than 40 utility partners in Germany. The technology is mature and battle-tested.

Academic Collaboration

Research partners including Reutlingen University, University of Kassel, and Helmut Schmidt University Hamburg provide scientific backing.

Political Anchoring

Connections to the German-Ukrainian Chamber of Industry and Commerce and recognition by the Ukrainian Ministry of Health strengthen the institutional foundation.

Letter of Intent

Non-Binding Declaration of Interest
The undersigning city or oblast in Ukraine hereby declares its strong interest in the deployment of Flex Home Storage Systems exclusively for private households. The Flexhome energy storage units are designed for residential use by individual citizens – they are not intended for municipal infrastructure such as pumping stations, public buildings, or other communal applications. By equipping private homes with these systems, households directly benefit from emergency power supply during outages while simultaneously contributing to the stabilization and resilience of the local power grid.

The city/oblast specifically declares:

  • Strong interest in the introduction and scaling of Flexhome storage systems
  • Willingness to cooperate with partners and organizations
  • Support for pilot projects and long-term implementation strategies
  • Commitment to sustainable and resilient energy supply
  • Disclosure of the estimated number of private households eligible for Flexhome storage deployment

This Letter of Intent is non-binding and does not constitute a legal obligation.
